It was during a motorcycle trail with his children in Parobé, Roca Sales, that Gérson came across a very beautiful but scared and dirty dog. Pipoca didn’t hesitate and followed them all the way to the farmhouse. She looked so gentle. However, it was evident that she had been abandoned, with signs of hunger, neglect, and infested with ticks.

It was love at first sight. Gérson and his family liked the mixed-breed dog so much that they decided to adopt her. Then, they named her Pipoca. Since they already had a kennel with Comanche, a quite impressive Boxer, they were afraid that there would be fights, but it was the opposite – they got along really well.

As time went by, the two of them stayed in the kennel because, with Comanche around, they couldn’t let Pipoca roam freely. After a few years together, Comanche was attacked by a ferocious dog when the family was away, and, unfortunately, he didn’t survive.

Pipoca witnessed the incident and got very sad. She didn’t want to be confined to the kennel anymore. Since she had always been gentle and had never tried to escape, the family decided to let her roam freely in the yard, where grandpa and grandma also spent their time.

Pipoca formed a special bond with them, because they were always home and showered her with love and attention. She stayed there with them and got embraced as a daughter. Today, she is their companion, never leaving Gérson’s grandpa’s side as he carries out his daily tasks, and always keeping a watchful eye. As they say: “Pipoca is just a few barks away from talking.”
